Chicago Firm Appoints Investment Professional to Head New Michigan-Focused Fund
(July 1, 2008) Chicago-based private equity firm Glencoe Capital has promoted Jason L. Duzan to managing director from principal, effective immediately.
Duzan assumes primary management responsibility for the newly established Glencoe Capital Michigan Opportunities Fund. He is relocating to Michigan, and will open a new office for Glencoe in Birmingham, Michigan.
“I am delighted to appoint Jason Duzan to this important role as managing director of the Michigan Opportunities Fund,” said David S. Evans, founder and chairman of Glencoe Capital, on making the announcement.
“Jason has spent nearly twelve years at Glencoe. His experience and investment acumen are tremendous assets to the firm. He was also a key factor in helping develop our opportunity to manage this new investment fund.”
The Michigan Opportunities Fund presents a new model for targeted private equity investment in Michigan. Focused on providing capital to successful and growing companies in the State, Glencoe’s new fund received an initial allocation of $150 million from the State of Michigan Retirement Systems as part of the State’s InvestMichigan! program.
Duzan joined Glencoe as an associate in 1997, became a vice president in 2000, and became a principal in 2004. He has over fourteen years of experience in executing, financing, and managing private equity investments in publicly-traded and private companies in a variety of industries, with a particular focus in the consumer and business service industries. He currently serves on the boards of several Glencoe Capital portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Glencoe Capital, Duzan spent two years in the corporate finance group at Harris Trust and Savings Bank. A Chartered Financial Analyst, he earned his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
