Investment Team



David S. EvansDavid S. Evans
Chairman and Chief Investment Officer

David Evans has 27 years of private equity investment experience, and has been directly responsible for over $2.0 billion of private equity investments in over 100 operating companies and 70 funds. Mr. Evans is the Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Leoville Holdings, LLC, a private equity investment manager with over $1.2 billion under management in multiple private equity alternative asset businesses. In his leadership role with Leoville's businesses, Evans focuses on investment strategy and key portfolio management decisions for the firm's investments. Mr. Evans is the Chairman of the firm's Investment Committee, and he has served as Chairman or director of numerous public and private companies. Leoville Holdings is the corporate parent of Glencoe Capital, the private equity firm that Mr. Evans founded in 1993. Prior to co-founding Glencoe, Evans was a private equity and mergers and acquisitions specialist at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. He also served as Associate Director of the University of Michigan's Growth Capital Foundation. Mr. Evans is a member of the Advisory Board of the Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation at the University of Chicago, a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Michigan's Hospital and Health System, a member of the Advisory Boards for the Schools of Education and the Liberal Arts College at the University of Michigan, and a member or director of several other philanthropic institutions. He earned his MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and his BGS from the University of Michigan.




Beth A. SatterfieldBeth A. Satterfield
Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Beth A. Satterfield joined Leoville Holdings LLC, the corporate parent of Glencoe Capital and the Michigan Opportunities Fund, in 2000. She has been a Senior Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of both Leoville and Glencoe Capital since 2003. In 2006, Ms. Satterfield also assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for Glencoe Capital, and she currently serves as a member of the firm's Investment Committee. Before moving into executive management, Ms Satterfield had extensive deal experience with the firm's funds, serving as a Vice President on Glencoe Capital's investment team for three years. Responsible for leading due diligence and deal structuring efforts for various portfolio companies, she also worked closely with the management teams at those companies after Glencoe's investment. Ms Satterfield is also the firm's primary liaison with the banking community. Prior to joining Leoville Holdings, Ms. Satterfield was a First Vice President in the Leveraged Finance Group at ABN-AMRO's LaSalle Bank (now part of Bank of America). She spent the first few years of her career in the Corporate Banking Groups of LaSalle and NBD Bank (now part of JPMorgan Chase). Ms Satterfield earned her B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois and received her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.




Jason L. DuzanJason L. Duzan
Managing Director


Jason Duzan joined Glencoe Capital in 1997 as an Associate, was promoted to Vice President in 2000, became a Principal in 2004, and was in 2008 appointed Managing Director with management responsibility for the firm's newly established Michigan Opportunities Fund. Mr. Duzan has over fifteen years of experience in executing, financing, and managing private equity investments in publicly-traded and private companies in a variety of industries, with a particular focus in the consumer and business service industries. Currently, he serves on the boards of several Glencoe Capital portfolio companies, including Moosejaw, Flatout, Inc., American Education Group, Child Development Schools, Inc. and Ace Bakery, Ltd. and was actively involved in Glencoe's investments in Specialty Foods Group. Prior to joining Glencoe Capital, Mr. Duzan spent nearly two years in the corporate finance group at Harris Trust & Savings Bank, specializing in the food product and agri-business industries. He earned his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.




G. Douglas PattersonG. Douglas Patterson
Managing Director


Doug Patterson became Managing Director at Glencoe Capital in 2009; prior to that, Mr. Patterson had been a Principal with the firm since joining Glencoe in 2003. Mr. Patterson has more than twenty years of experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and equity and debt financings. Currently, he serves on the boards of Glencoe Capital portfolio companies Child Development Schools, Dixie Chemical Corp., First Home Insurance Corp., Rimrock Holdings Corp., and System Development Integration, LLC. Prior to joining Glencoe, Mr. Patterson spent ten years with Ivex Packaging Corporation, where his responsibilities included negotiating, structuring and executing numerous acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and financings that contributed to Ivex's growth from a private acquisition into a NYSE-listed company. Before joining Ivex, Mr. Patterson was associated with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York, where he worked for a variety of private equity firms. He earned a B.S. from Vanderbilt University, and a J.D. from Northwestern University.




Douglas S. KearneyDouglas S. Kearney

Doug Kearney joined Glencoe Capital as a Principal of the Michigan Opportunities Fund in 2009, and is responsible for sourcing, executing and managing investments. Doug serves as a Director on the Board of NOVO 1, Inc. and oversees MOF's investment in the Company. Doug is also experienced in providing interim management and growth support services to companies in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Glencoe, Doug was a Principal at Superior Capital Partners, where he sourced and executed special situation portfolio investments in the lower middle market. Before that, Doug was a Managing Director for Conway MacKenzie & Dunleavy, a middle-market turnaround and performance improvement firm, where he filled senior restructuring and executive positions in an array of turnaround assignments. From 2001 through 2006, Doug served as the Chief Financial Officer of Lason, Inc., a global provider of business process outsourcing services with over $175 million in revenues and operations in North America, the Caribbean, India and China. While at Lason, Doug was a key principal in the successful execution of restructuring and growth plans that led to a tripling of the company's earnings, creating value to its private equity investors of five times their original investment. Doug has also held positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers, DaimlerChrysler and IBM. A CPA, Doug earned his MBA from Yale University and a BBA from the University of Michigan.




Mark J. MillerMark J. Miller

Mark Miller joined the firm in 2007 as an Analyst, and became an Associate at Glencoe Capital's Michigan Opportunities Fund in March of 2009. Before joining Glencoe Capital, Mr. Miller was with J.P. Morgan Securities, where he spent two years as an Investment Banking Analyst in the bank's Mid-Corporate Investment Banking division. Mr. Miller worked on various mergers and acquisition transactions and capital markets advisory assignments. He received his B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame.




Christopher YooChristopher Yoo
Associate


Christopher Yoo joined Glencoe Capital as an Associate in July of 2009 after spending two years as an Analyst with Citigroup's Investment Banking office in Chicago. While at Citigroup, Mr. Yoo worked on mergers and acquisitions and various capital markets transactions within the Industrials Group. He earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.





Tim FlanneryTimothy J. Flannery

Tim Flannery joined Glencoe Capital as an Associate with the Michigan Opportunities Fund in 2010. Prior to joining Glencoe, Tim worked as an investment banking Analyst in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group in Chicago. Mr. Flannery worked on various mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, and recapitalization transactions as well as other related assignments. He earned his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.




Andrew J. GalanteAndrew J. Galante
Analyst


Andrew Galante joined Glencoe Capital as Analyst for the Michigan Opportunities Fund in July of 2009. Prior to joining Glencoe, Mr. Galante worked in investment banking at Houlihan Smith & Company in Chicago and at W.Y. Campbell & Company in Detroit. As an Analyst, Mr. Galante worked on mergers and acquisitions engagements and capital advisory assignments in various industries. Previously, Mr. Galante worked in private investment management at UBS in Chicago, supporting family, institutional, and corporate investment mandates. Mr. Galante earned his B.B.A. with concentrations in Finance and Economics from Loyola University of Chicago.




Julie VuottoJulie Vuotto

Julie Vuotto joined Leoville Holdings, LLC in 2004, previously having worked in public accounting for sixteen years, where she acquired a wide variety of experience in audit, tax and accounting—eventually specializing in partnership accounting and taxation. Ms. Vuotto is a CPA and earned her M.S. in Taxation from DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.





Judy H. TranJudy H. Tran
Finance Manager


Judy Tran joined Glencoe Capital from Heller Financial, Inc., a G.E. Capital company, where she was an Accounting Section Manager focusing on accounting for domestic and international leasing services business groups. Ms Tran earned a B.S. in accountancy from the University of Illinois and is a CPA.





Mike FurrMike Furr
Financial Analyst


Mike Furr joined Leoville Holdings LLC, the corporate parent of Stockwell Capital, Glencoe Capital and the Michigan Opportunities Fund, in 2008. Mr. Furr came to Leoville from UGL Equis, a corporate real estate advisory firm, where he spent two years as a Senior Financial Analyst in the firm's Corporate Finance division. Before that, he worked as a Financial Analyst at Churchill Capital, a real estate investment banking firm located in Dallas, TX, primarily focused on providing debt and equity financing for all types of commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Furr earned his B.S. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
