GLENCOE CLOSES FUND AT $382 MILLION
Chicago-based merchant bank closes third set of funds
(December 31, 2003) David S. Evans, Chairman of Glencoe Capital, today announced the final closing of the firm's third set of funds with aggregate capital of $382 million.
Glencoe Capital Partners III, LP, closed with committed capital of $200 million and Glencoe Capital Institutional Partners III, LP, a companion fund, provides $182 million of institutional co-investment capital.
"We are pleased to have closed these funds despite a challenging fundraising market in the past year," noted Evans, who founded the firm in 1993. "We think it's a testament to our business model and focused investment strategy."
All institutional investors from the firm's previous funds contributed to the current fund.
Glencoe manages over $900 in alternative investment assets. Through the Glencoe Capital Partners Funds, the firm acts as the lead sponsor in buyouts and recapitalizations of public and private companies with market values between $50 million and $150 million.
