GLENCOE SPONSORS UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO VENTURE CAPITAL COMPETITION
Chicago Private Equity Firm Renews Support to Program

(January 15, 2008) Chicago-based private equity investment firm Glencoe Capital is sponsoring the 4th Annual Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business this year, announced David S. Evans, the firm's Chairman.

This marks Glencoe Capital's fourth successive year of sponsorship support for the student-run event, which is coordinated by the Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Private Equity student group (EVP) and the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship. This year's competition will be held on January 25, 2008; the winning team will compete in the regional VCIC in February.

"Glencoe Capital is committed to programs that help students better understand equity investing," said Evans. "This competition offers a superb opportunity for students to learn about entrepreneurship and venture capital investment decisions."

Established in 1998 at the Kenan-Flager Business School of the University of North Carolina, the VCIC is the nation's premier strategy competition for venture-minded and entrepreneurial MBA students. The finals of the competition will be held in Chapel Hill, NC again this year.

An educational experience in strategic entrepreneurship, the VCIC exposes students to venture investing, including research and evaluation, critical and strategic thinking, finance and analysis, and interpersonal interaction with companies seeking funds. Playing the role of venture capitalists, students interact with real-life entrepreneurs and have their investment decisions evaluated by actual investors.

"We hope for the best for this year's competitors in the Glencoe Capital Chicago GSB Internal VCIC," says Evans, who founded Glencoe Capital and is an alumnus of the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.

In 2007, the University of Chicago team won the Central Region bracket in the VCIC, and proceeded to the national finals.

Glencoe Capital's parent, Leoville Holdings LLC, also supports a private equity investment student competition at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
